This position can be full- or part-time from when vegetation in Northern New Mexico leafs out in the spring until it dies in the fall, with the possibility of continuing part-time in the off-season, around the farm or with business development.
Daily Tasks Include (but if you want to grow the role wouldn’t be limited to):

Setting up, tearing down, and repairing portable electric fencing

Conducting checks to ensure the animals are healthy and safe; refilling water and minerals

Loading and unloading goats from a livestock trailer, possibly driving truck and trailer

Inspecting vegetation and taking pictures

Optional scheduled “on-call” shifts in case of emergency situations at project sites
Success on our team will require caring for the animals with love and the equipment with respect at all times.
Sample Qualifications
We are less interested in someone with existing skills, but more in someone with a positive attitude that is eager to learn! Examples of experience that would be a big bonus, though, would be:

Worked with livestock or small farms

Adhered to safety standards such as wearing boots and gloves in an outdoor environment

Veterinary technician

Land restoration, fencing, or landscaping

Drove a truck towing precious cargo
Minimum Requirements

Ability to lift 50 lbs. and team lift individual goats

Ability to sprint or jog short distances, occasionally
-
Willingness to follow to safety procedures and wear protective clothing (gloves, boots, work pants, and sun protection as necessary)

Enjoy working outside in challenging conditions

Ability to use a cell phone (will be provided if necessary)

U.S. citizen with valid driver’s license and good driving record
